BATHURST – Women in Business NB will host an online market featuring businesses owned by women from across the province.
The virtual fair and market will run from April 29 to May 1 from 3 to 7 p.m. each day. Over 20 businesses are expected to participate in the event from a range of industries including food, fashion, tourism, health and beauty, and professional services.
“WBNB’s advisory committee and staff were looking to find a creative way to support local women business owners in New Brunswick by connecting them with potential buyers as Mother’s Day approaches,” Katherine Langteigne, Director of Women in Business NB, wrote in an email to Huddle. “We invite everyone to show their support and come browse what their local entrepreneurs have to offer.”
The event will run through and will be sponsored by the new InCamera platform created by Halifax-based web and app company immediac.
Attendees will enter the event’s virtual lobby where they will see a list of businesses and services represented. They will then be able to click a business to be taken to their virtual “booths.” These booths are breakout rooms where they will be able to video chat with the business owner. They will then be able to learn about products, browse photos, and learn more about the business.
“Our team is committed to supporting Atlantic Canadian business – we’re thrilled to sponsor an event that showcases women-owned businesses from around New Brunswick,” said immediac Founder, CEO, John Leahy in an emailed statement.
“This event is also a great opportunity to demonstrate what we ultimately already know about InCamera. Simply put, it can do things that other video conferencing platforms cannot.”
Registration for the event is open through InCamera.
